Long Island’s own Kevin James is back on the screen starring in a new series called "The Crew."
He chatted with News 12's Elisa DiStefano about his new streaming sitcom.
In NASCAR's first sitcom, Kevin James plays a NASCAR crew chief. This is James' first streaming series premiering Monday on Netflix.
"It’s a workplace comedy different than something I've ever done before. I got hooked up with a real crew chief, and he brought me down there and I learned about this world. Something I never know about," says James.
The show is set in a NASCAR garage, but it was shot at Gold Coast Studios in Bethpage. And James says he was thrilled to film in his hometown.
Great Neck native Dan Ahdoot was happy to shoot in his hometown too.
"It was great; my parents live 20 minutes away from where we were shooting, so I’d go get a home cooked meal after shooting," Ahdoot says.
