Long Island Restaurant Week will be kicking off this Sunday - with 96 restaurants offering discounts in hopes to get customers out of their homes and dining out.
Sandbar in Cold Spring Harbor is one of the restaurants participating in the event and will be offering a $42 pre-fixe three-course menu.
Sandbar general manager James Olsen says the past two years have had their challenges, including labor shortages, supply chain issues and the new COVID-19 variant.
"This last year, however, I think people were sick of staying home; we had a great year last year," he says. "It has tipped down December and January with the new Omicron variant."
Long Island Restaurant Hospitality Group president Steve Haweeli says those working in the restaurant industry are warriors and wants people to enjoy a dining experience they won't forget.
"It's the third week in January when things can get pretty bleak. We're giving folks an opportunity to go out and get rid of that cabin fever," he says.
Long Island Restaurant Week lasts through Jan. 30.
