The first major accumulation of snow this season has fallen in upstate New York. In Syracuse, about 23 inches of snow fell and there is a lake effect warning for more snow through later tonight.

The first major accumulation of snow this season has fallen in upstate New York.
In Syracuse, about 23 inches of snow fell and there is a lake effect warning for more snow through later tonight. 
Long Island did not receive major accumulations, but there was some snow captured by cameras.
The light coating froze and caused a number of accidents in Suffolk County this morning, according to officials.
