Service on the Long Island Rail Road is back to a normal schedule today after the system operated on a weekend schedule on Monday following Sunday's snowstorm.

Customers can anticipate cancellations and delays today due to ongoing weather-related switch and equipment trouble.

The branches impacted include Babylon, Montauk, Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma.

An MTA spokesperson told News 12 that equipment was reassigned as a result of the weekend storm.

Late last night and into this morning, the MTA sent out several alerts for issues ranging from congestion caused by storm cleanup, switch trouble, signal work, and equipment problems.

Many commuters didn't ride yesterday because of storm cleanup, their offices being closed, or their kids having snow days, so they're eager to get back on track.
