Long Island will be represented at Monday's Inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C. by a Suffolk native.
Christopher Macchio, an American tenor who grew up in Holbrook and graduated from Sachem High School, will sing the National Anthem at President-elect Donald Trump's Inauguration.
Macchio credits his high school choir director as one of the people responsible for his success.
"When I sang for him, he just couldn't believe it, he looked me in the eye and he said, 'you have a gift from God and an obligation to share that gift.' And I really took his words to heart, and from that point forward, everything unfolded in the direction of music and, sharing my passion with the public." Macchio said.
