In the Town of Oyster Bay and Town of Huntington, crews are ready to treat the roads with salt and sand.
“People will wake up on Sunday morning and see icy roads. They’ll see a blanket of snow. By putting down lots of sand and salt on the roads we reduce the amount of snow that accumulates on those roads," said Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino.
"If you don't have to be on the road, please get off the road. If you have cars parked in the street, get them off the streets so the men and women here can do their jobs," said Huntington Town Highway Supervisor Andre Sorrentino.
Town officials urge drivers to take it slower on the roads during the storm. If you must go out, leave extra room for the car in front of you.
