According to the university's website, seven cases were reported Sunday at the Post campus in Brookville.
In a letter to parents obtained by News 12, university officials warned the LIU community, which consists of campuses on Long Island and in Brooklyn, that 14 students - including several athletes - contracted the virus.
The letter did not specify which campus the individuals attended, but did say they were all linked to off-campus gatherings.
News 12 reached out to LIU for more information and iswaiting to hear back.
