A Long Island Rail Road train hasfatally struck a man at a station.

LIRR spokesman Salvatore Arena says the man was not authorizedto be on the tracks. The incident, which occurred at the Massapequa Park station around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, involveda westbound train headed to Penn Station.

There was no other information about the man.

Service had been shut down at the station, but was restored by2:15 p.m.
