The Long Island Rail Road has suspended all service due to the nor'easter.
MTA officials say LIRR will stop transit on all branches by 8 a.m.
"We're bringing in hundreds of personnel," says MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber. "They are already at work salting and sanding platforms and getting all the other facilities, walkways, parking lots ready as well."
Officials say they have snow-fighting trains and tow trucks on standby to restore service as quickly as possible.
