LIRR: Train strikes car west of Pinelawn
Officials say the car that was struck was on fire when they responded to the scene.

Service was suspended in both directions between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma as of 11 p.m. Thursday after a car was struck by a train west of Pinelawn, according to the LIRR.
Suffolk County police say the road was closed at Wellwood and Patton avenues, as well as Long Island and Wellwood avenues.
Officials say the car that was struck was on fire when they responded to the scene.
