The Long Island Railroad is experiencing disruptions due to an electrical fire that broke out Thursday at Penn Station.
Officials say customers can expect delays and reroutes along the Babylon Branch.
News 12 is told that there was an electrical fire in Line 4 near the interlocking mechanism, and that Amtrack lines 3 and 4 are suspended.
NotifyNYC confirmed the following schedule changes:
Westbound:
The 10:14 a.m. train from Babylon to Penn Station is being diverted to Grand Central.
Eastbound:
The 11:22 a.m. train from Penn Station to Babylon has been canceled.
The 11:33 a.m. train from Penn Station to Babylon will originate out of Jamaica.
Active alerts are also out for the City Terminal Zone. Service is temporarily suspended between Jamaica and Penn Station in both directions.
Officials announced around 12:30 p.m. that all westbound trains to Penn Station will terminate at Jamaica.
Service to and from Grand Central is not affected.
