Long Island Rail Road service is back on or close to schedule after it was suspended during the morning commute between Huntington and Hicksville on the Port Jefferson branch.
Officials say an unidentified male was hit at the Woodbury Road crossing around 6 a.m. in Syosset.
LIRR added additional stops to other lines to accommodate passengers that ride on the Port Jefferson branch. Several trains were either canceled or delayed during the suspension.
