The Long Island Rail Road is back on track after a broken rail in one of the East River tunnels caused delays and cancellations this morning.
The LIRR says the broken rail was tougher to get to because it was inside the tunnel leading into Penn Station.
During the morning rush, some trains were canceled, diverted or delayed.
LIRR officials say by 10:30 a.m., it was operating on or close to schedule.
