Lindenhurst Public Schools says it is shutting down two of its elementary schools due to positive cases of COVID-19.
A message to parents on the district website said that Daniel Street Elementary will be closed for the next two weeks after it learned a second staff member tested positive for the virus. It said that person was last at school on Friday.
Classes will now be held remotely through Nov. 20.
William Rall Elementary School will also be closed, but only on Monday, after two students contracted the virus. Both students were last in school on Friday.
The district says if any additional virtual learning days need to be added that parents will be notified.
