Residents in Lindenhurst buried a time capsule Wednesday night as a way of commemorating the second anniversary of Superstorm Sandy.
Many included letters and pictures into the capsule. Each item sealed held a special meaning to the residents who had to overcome severe damage from the Oct. 2012 storm.
"We've all been through a tragedy. We got through it - and you know what, we're all gonna be fine," said one resident.
The neighbors of South Sixth Street plan to unearth their time capsule Oct. 29, 2022 - the 10-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy.
