Long Island residents enjoyed parades, family gatherings and soaking up the sun and surf during Memorial Day weekend.
It was a record-breaking holiday weekend at Jones Beach, with the crowd reaching about 271,000 people Sunday due to the New York Air Show.
While many were at the beach Monday, others say they planned returning home to barbeque as they prepare to head back to work following an extended weekend.
