Five firefighters who returned home from fighting in Iraq with the Air National Guard had a heartfelt homecoming as they arrived at MacArthur Airport Thursday.
The men are part of the 106th Air Rescue Wing out of Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach. They are either firefighters on Long Island or with the FDNY and volunteered for the four-month mission.
Family members said they have Christmas presents waiting for the soldiers and can?t wait to celebrate their return home.
