Long Island Cares and Stop & Shop are helping to give local families what they need for their Easter and Passover weekend.
Twenty families across Nassau County will be receiving meals for the holidays.
The aim is to help families that are struggling because of the pandemic and the rise in inflation.
"And our stores have provided either Passover or Easter dinner for those families," says Stefanie Shuman, public relations manager for Long Island Stop & Shop stores. "So it's one less thing they have to worry about and they can enjoy themselves around the table."
Two families received Easter baskets, additional food and Stop & Shop gift cards Wednesday at the food bank's Freeport location.
