Students at Salk Middle School in Levittown were evacuated after a note threatening a bomb detonation was found in the building Friday.
According to the school district's Web site, the note indicated the bomb was supposed to detonate at 2:50 p.m. The threat did not target any individual or group, the district said. Students were evacuated to MacArthur High School while a security sweep of the middle school was completed, as per state law.
Students were allowed back in the building after 3:30 p.m. to retrieve their belongings in the company of their parents.
After-school activities were canceled, but evening activities went on as usual. The district kept parents informed with phone messages and postings on the district Web site.
