A $30 million lawsuit has been filed against the Wyandanch Library.
Attorney Monte Chandler announced the suit Friday.
It comes after library employee Kwaisi McCorvey pleaded guilty to raping a 16-year-old in the library from 2016 to 2021.
Chandler is now calling for the library's Board of Trustees to resign, saying they knew about the rape.
"All of this could've been avoided if the people of Wyandanch leadership at the Wyandanch Library did the bare minimum of vetting out who they employ," says Chandler.
Chandler says McCorvey had a criminal history and his aunt, who is on the board, knew about the rape.
News 12 reached out to the Wyandanch Library but has not heard back.
