Lake Compounce opens this weekend for its 178th season.
The gates open at America's oldest amusement park in Bristol on Saturday morning at 11. Hundreds will be coming through the gates.
"We are ready for opening weekend," said Lake Compounce marketing director Meg Forno.
People are coming for the rides and the games.
"It's a family park. There's something for every age and stage. There's something everyone can enjoy here and their time here and there's just so much to offer," said Forno.
One of America's oldest roller coasters is back on track.
"Wildcat is back. Retracked and smoother and I hear faster than ever," said Forno.
For a limited time, there's Wildcat chicken tenders, Wildcat burgers and Wildcat shakes.
There are plenty of big events planned for an exciting summer.
"As we get into like June, we've got a big kids fest with friends like Pete the Cat that you can meet as well as Bluey and her sister Bingo," said Lake Compounce senior manager of events and entertainment Blake Braswell.
The concert series is back in July.
"Good Vibrations Beach Boys tribute band, and Larger than Life tribute to all these '90s, 2000s boy bands," said Braswell.
The popular water park opens Memorial Day weekend.
"Buy a pass. That's the way to go. And if you want to upgrade to gold, you get free parking, free drinks, free access to all the events," said Forno.
Tickets are $64.99 and 50% off online.
Phantom Fall Fest will come back in October, and the holiday lights return in November and December.
