A kitten is safe after being rescued from a storm drain in Manorville Tuesday night.

It was a team effort, with Suffolk police calling in Strong Island Animal Rescue to assist with the unique mission.

The drain had water in it and the pipe connected to the drains was too small for anyone to fit in it, the rescue group says.

That’s when they decided to use a remote-controlled car to help.

Rescuers put it in one side of the drain, and it successfully pushed the kitten out the other side.
