The Kings Park community came together Thursday to honor the memory of a student counselor.

The second annual Jennifer Isakson Paternostro Beach Walk was held at Kings Park High School due to weather.

News 12 is told participants usually walk from the Sunken Meadow State Park Beach to the Kings Park Bluff where there is a bench dedicated to Isakson.

The late counselor's family tells News 12 that she worked at the high school for over 25 years and inspired many students.

"She cares, she gave her all with her students," says Paternostro's daughter, Haley Paternostro. "She really got to know them as a person, not just like the student. And she was just an amazing person."

News 12 is told two Kings Park High School seniors also received $3,000 scholarships in honor of Jennifer Paternostro.
