A News 12 viewer is facing a $110,000 medical bill after being misinformed about his health insurance coverage.
A Kane in Your Corner investigation reveals that Michael Rosenfeld says he was told by Alaris Health that his benefits would last through the end of April after working part of the month. His insurance company says coverage ended the day he resigned, leaving his wife's surgery uncovered.
Health care advocate AnnMarie McIlwain is working to get the bill resolved, saying the amount exceeds Rosenfeld's annual salary.
Rosenfeld says he didn't receive a formal benefits letter until months later, and it included a typo that added to the confusion.
