Closings arguments were delivered Monday in the trial of an Oakdale man accused in the death of a police officer.
James Ryan is accused of driving drunk when he caused two crashes on the Long Island Expressway in 2012. Police say Officer Joseph Olivieri was responding to one of the crashes when he was hit and killed by another driver.
Prosecutors blame Ryan for Olivieri's death, but Ryan's attorney says that the SUV's driver is to blame.
Ryan is facing over a dozen charges, including vehicular manslaughter and aggravated vehicular homicide.
His case will go to a jury on Tuesday.
