John Cronin and his father, Mark, have hit a major milestone – the eighth anniversary of their business with a cause, John’s Crazy Socks.

They sell fun, colorful socks to spread happiness and donate to groups like the Association for Children with Down Syndrome.

“Most businesses fail within five years, so here we are, still standing here,” said co-founder Mark X. Cronin.

John’s Crazy Socks held an open house and holiday party out of their warehouse for employees, customers and members of the community.

“All the people out here are buying socks today. It is a lot of fun,” said co-founder John Cronin.

“We’ve been able to create 34 jobs, 22 of those are held by people with different ability,” said Mark.

Gary Rottkamp, an inventory specialist, said, “It’s wonderful to celebrate with John’s Crazy Socks for the hard work we do all year long.”

John’s Crazy Socks has also donated to the Special Olympics, National Down Syndrome Society and the Autism Society of America – raising more than $800,000 to date.
