The United States Navy has given a local school a special invitation.
The Wind Ensemble at John F. Kennedy High School is headed to the Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia Beach to perform for around 2,000 veterans.
Director of Bands Walter Avellaneda says they are really excited because it's the first ever civilian band to perform on that base.
"It's something they're always going to remember because it's never been done," Avellaneda says.
Band member Coby Loew says it's a lot of pressure but also a special honor.
"I'm very excited and honored that we get to do this for our country," Loew says.
