Americans are gearing up for Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island this Fourth of July, but Long Island had its own eating competition.

The 10th annual pizza eating contest was held in Holbrook at Joe's Pizza.

A total of 24 to 30 pies were made and 15 hungry contestants ate them.

This year's winner and "Pizza King" was Holbrook's James Forsyth.

He ate nine and a half slices.

While he wins the crown, he just misses the all-time record of 10 slices.
