When you get to be 80 or 90 years old, you have probably cared for a lot of people in your lifetime. It would be understandable if you wanted to make it all about you for a change.

But the seniors at Brandywine Middlebrook Crossing in Bridgwater are still caring for others.

Volunteers from the senior living facility formed a “sandwich brigade” this week, making food for the homeless.

They made 80 bologna, ham and cheese sandwiches to bring to the Somerville facility known as S.H.I.P., otherwise known as the Samaritan Homeless Interim Program.

These seniors are continuing to make New Jersey proud.
