A Jersey City diner known for its hamburgers will be featured in a movie starring Timothée Chalamet.
“A Complete Unknown” is a biopic film about songwriter Bob Dylan. Chalamet will be portraying Dylan in the movie, which takes the viewer on a journey through his rise to fame.
The movie will feature Jersey City’s White Mana Diner on Tonnelle Avenue. Owner Mario Costa says it is a privilege to have his business chosen as a backdrop for the film.
"The scout came. They were looking for a round diner because this is like the early part of Bob Dylan's life in the ‘60s, so they were looking for a round,” says Costa. The guy came and then the director came to see and the first thing when he walked in her was like, ‘I love it,’ and it was unbelievable and it's just very, very special."
Filming is expected to wrap on Thursday. White Mana is scheduled to reopen on Friday.
