A Jericho teenager is making it his mission to provide people with disabilities an opportunity to catch some waves.
Brandon Klein, 17, has designed the first custom adaptive surfboard in the country.
It comes with a carbon fiber built-in seat that allows those with disabilities to enjoy the water.
The project was inspired by his volunteering experience where he helped a woman with disabilities surf.
"I grew up my whole life with surfing and I just want to make everyone have that equal opportunity," Klein says. "I think it's important for anybody to be in that water, in that ocean."
The Long Island teen collaborated with a British innovation center and held fundraisers to make his design a reality.
