A 29-year-old man was arraigned on second-degree murder charges today in connection to one of two Central Islip shootings that appear to be gang-related.

Prosecutors say Jeffry Rosales and two other men fired shots into a crowd of people leaving a party on May 28, resulting in the death of 21-year-old Keenan Russell. Rosales is not accused of firing the blast that killed Russell.

Rosales' attorney says his client was not at the scene and has no gang affiliations.

Suffolk County District Attorney Tom Spota expects more arrests in the case.

Derrick Mayes, 21, was gunned down in a separate shooting in Central Islip within a week of Russell's murder. No arrests have been made in Mayes' case.
