Today we are going to see seals, on this Road Trip: Close to Home.
It’s the season for seal walks at Cupsogue Beach in Westhampton.
Seals migrate to Long Island's South Shore in these colder months, and it is cold out - so bundle up!
The Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island offers guided walks with a marine mammal expert that will take you to the best viewing vantage point.
The guided walks are a little over a mile round trip, and take a little over an hour. If you want to come on your own, be sure to bring your binoculars. The best time to see seals is around low tide from now through early May.
CRESLI tours fill up quickly. You do need a reservation.
