A woman who was seeking medical care at Lincoln Hospital in Mott Haven was beaten to death in her hospital room, according to the NYPD.
Cynthia Vann, 55, was being treated for her liver, but things took a dark turn.
Vann’s daughter, Taneisha, says her mother's hospital roommate attacked her while she slept, causing her to need emergency surgery. She died two weeks later from her injuries.
"It's heartbreaking. I'm broken inside. It's very difficult. My mom was my support system. She was really all I had," said Taneisha.
Taneisha tells News 12 that the hospital informed her that the roommate has a history of violent behavior.
Police sources close to this investigation tell News 12 that the roommate is on the run.
"She has a birthday coming up on the 9th. She’ll be 56 and that's difficult as well. It's just she didn't deserve that," said Taneisha.
