The Islip Terrace woman who gave her husband the gift of life on Valentine?s Day, her kidney, is back home from the hospital Saturday.

Leona Agnello donated one of her kidneys to her husband, Joe. Doctors at Stony Brook University Hospital said the surgery went well. Joe Agnello, who has been moved out of ICU, is expected to be released in the next few days. He says he felt better immediately after the transplant. Leona says the success of the surgery is a big relief because she no longer has to worry about losing her husband.

Stony Brook is the only hospital on Long Island that performs kidney transplants.
