A proposed 122,000-square-foot warehouse in Hauppauge will not be built, after the application was denied by the Town of Islip Planning Board.
The warehouse on Blydenburgh Road would have had 14 loading docks. The project required a zoning change from residential to industrial.
Neighbors packed the meeting in opposition prior to the planning board’s decision.
An attorney for the developer, Roslyn-based Barone Management, tried to modify the plan to add a sports facility that would be donated to a local nonprofit. But the amended plan was not considered by the planning board.
