Several Long Islanders are on standby to mobilize and help where they are needed to help in the wake of Ian.

At Island Harvest, boxes of supplies are ready to be sent.

Island Harvest says emergency response supplies are at the ready for those in need. The supplies include food, ponchos and can openers.

“When one food bank needs help, we all step up to help out,” says Randi Dresner, Island Harvest executive director.

Along with supporting groups like Island Harvest, residents can also donate money to trusted organizations that are doing relief work in Florida.
