An Inwood man was sentenced to 21 years to life in prison Thursday for murdering his 2-month-old daughter, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors say Marlon Rabanales Pretzantzin beat, shook and dropped the child because she would not stop crying in March of 2025.

After his daughter became unresponsive during the abuse, he brought her to a neighboring apartment.

The neighbor reported the incident to 911, and emergency service personnel responded to the scene.

The infant was rushed to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital and later pronounced dead at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

Prosecutors say she suffered contusions to the head, several rib fractures, severe hemorrhaging and dislocated vertebrae.

Pretzantzin pleaded guilty to the murder charge in March of this year.
