Investigators: Bullet found at Hicksville HS

Police tell News 12 there was no real threat to the school.

Police were called to Hicksville High School Thursday where investigators say a .22-caliber bullet was found inside the building.
"I heard somebody found a bullet in the school gym," one student said. "I know the guy who found it, he was pretty spooked after."
Another student says they sat in their classrooms for a while until they were told they could go to their next classes.
Police tell News 12 there was no real threat to the school.
The superintendent of Hicksville schools released a statement saying "This morning, a student found a single bullet on the floor in the high school gymnasium. The student notified district officials who immediately contacted the Nassau County Police Department. Police officials are at the high school investigating this incident while the school day operated on a normal schedule."
"Please be assured that the safety of our staff and students is our top priority and we will keep you updated on this matter."
