It's the end of an era for one Jersey Shore bar and club that's been around for almost 30 years.

The Headliner Oasis in Neptune will shut its doors on Monday for the area to be redeveloped.

"We're a little sad to go, but it's time to make room for the future," said Tom Sueta, who has owned and managed Headliner for 29 years.

The bar hosted a charity event to raise money for breast cancer awareness on Saturday to mark one of their final events.

"I've been coming here since I was 18 years old and played music here weekly for multiple summers in a row, and it's sad to see the Headliner go," one regular performer said.

Though the occasion was bittersweet for employees and customers alike, they said the community they've built isn't going anywhere.

"I've been coming here almost every weekend since COVID times basically. So a lot of friends and people who've become like family work here," said Ryan Messink, a regular customer.

Some employees said they've been at Headliner for over a decade, like Jimmie Tyrrell, whose been bartending at the business for 17 years.

“It’s just a staple of the Jersey Shore. It is the place, it always was, it still is. I can’t tell you how many people have come here this entire week that I haven’t seen in 15 years, and they just had to come have one more drink. It just goes a long way," Tyrrell said.

Headliner will also be open on Sunday and Monday, hosting several performers and the bar and club's signature bingo.

"The greatest thing is that we've been so impactful. So many people have met their wives here. So many people have formed lifelong friendships, and it's very humbling," Sueta said.
