Department of Homeland Security officials have released the name of the driver they were after in a chase that left children injured in Newark.

The incident took place Wednesday morning at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Shanley Avenue. DHS says Christian Oswaldo Guevara-Guerra tried to evade arrest by ramming his vehicle into law enforcement vehicles.

Officials say Guerra then struck multiple civilian vehicles, including an Uber car that had three children inside on their way to school. Those children were seriously injured, according to officials.

After a head-on collision with a civilian car, Guerra was taken into ICE custody.

DHS says Guevara is a “criminal illegal alien” who was issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge in 2017.
