A Huntington Station 18-year-old says he woke up on the morning of Christmas Eve to find out his 2009 Infinity G37 had been stolen at his home.

KaRahn King says it must have happened around 3:30 a.m., according to the AirTag that was in the vehicle.

King bought the car himself and used every day to drive to work and school.

“I honestly didn’t know what to feel,” King said. “I knew a lot of teenagers like to steal the car that I have. I just didn’t think it would happen to me.”

KaRahn’s mother, Gloria Benitez-King, says her son is resilient and didn’t let the situation ruin his holiday.

“Instead of him shutting down and saying ‘forget the holidays,’ he stayed up that night and wrapped all the gifts,” Benitez-King said.

She says her son put a lot of work into his car, so she started a GoFundMe to help him replace it.

Suffolk County police confirmed that they are investigating the theft.
