Ten years after its first major renovation, representatives of Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station announced plans Friday for another facelift.
The owners of Walt Whitman Mall, which is located on the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Route 110, say they'll propose detailed plans later in the year for the construction of a second floor and food court. Some residents believe the popular mall could use a food court, while others say the congestion on the roads during the holiday season is already too much. Expansion can go forward once the 10-year moratorium put in place after the 1997 renovation expires.
Huntington Town Supervisor Frank Petrone says the expansion would seemingly be beneficial and he doesn't think traffic would worsen.
