Family and friends congregated in Malverne Friday to say a final goodbye to a firefighter killed during a training drill.
Hundreds attended the funeral of 42-year-old Paul Brady, an insurance executive and volunteer with the Malverne Fire Department. Brady was on top of a fire truck Sunday when the driver pulled out of the firehouse. He died when he was pinned against a ceiling beam.
Fire chief Michael Latronico describes Brady as a first-rate and dedicated firefighter and says he will be sorely missed. He was also remembered as a devoted and loving husband.
