TROPICS: Watching Hurricane Lee. The storm will pass east of Long Island late next week with coastal effects. So far, models are in good agreement the storm passes east of Cape Cod.

Hurricane Lee intensified from a Category 1 to Category 5 in 12 hours. That is the second-biggest rapid intensification on record. It will safely stay north of the Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, and Hispanola. Click here for more information on the storm.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny, warm, and humid. Highs near 84. Slight chance for a shower or storm. Warm and muggy at night with lows near 71. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy, warm and humid. Chance for late day showers and storms. Any storms could bring locally heavy rain. Highs near 82. Lows near 70.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a good chance of scattered showers and storms. Warm and humid with highs near 80. Lows near 68.
