Team USA Hockey is honoring the legacy of the late NHL star Johnny Gaudreau by displaying his No. 13 jersey their locker room at the Milano Cortina Games.

Gaudreau and his younger brother Matthew were struck and killed in August 2024 while bicycling in New Jersey.

Before his death, he represented the United States on multiple international stages, becoming a fan favorite and leaving a lasting mark on the national program.

Team USA hopes to build on its strong start at the 2026 Winter Olympics in the preliminary round, with upcoming matchups against Denmark and Germany.

The night before their sister’s wedding, John, 31, and Matt, 29, died after they were hit by a suspected drunken driver while riding bicycles in the Delaware River country south of Philadelphia, leaving a family forever shattered, with not enough time to ever fully pick up all the pieces.
