Police are continuing to investigate the homicide of a young couple in West Babylon one year later.
Anthony St. Hilaire, 22, of West Babylon, and 21-year old Olivia DiGrigoli, of West Islip, were fatally shot just before 11:30 p.m. on July 25, 2018.
As previously reported, a neighbor told News 12 that St. Hilaire was found shot three times next to their parked vehicle on Lakeway Drive in West Babylon, and DiGrigoli was found inside the car, shot in the head.
Police say DiGrigoli had been driving and St. Hilaire was found outside the car.
They say they are investigating whether there was an earlier confrontation at a nearby gas station and then they were followed to that location. They believe St. Hilaire was the intended target.
Det. Lt. Kevin Beyrer, of the Suffolk Police Department, says they don't believe it was a "random act."
DiGrigoli's family will be holding a vigil Thursday night at their home in West Islip. They built a garden to remember their daughter.
"We want answers. We need justice for our daughter and we're not going to stop until we have justice for her," says Olivia's father, Angelo DiGrigoli.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
