A homeless man was arraigned Tuesday after allegedly attacking two police officers when they tried to arrest him in Westbury.
Authorities say the officers were hurt Monday morning when they tried to arrest Miguel Cruz for drinking a beer on Maple Avenue. He has since been charged with two counts of second-degree assault, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in the second-degree.
The judge ordered $40,000 bail.
Cruz is next due in court June 6.
