Homeland Security agents raided a registered sex offender's home in Patchogue Thursday.
Officials say the raid was at the Old North Ocean Avenue home of Matthew Barone.
The 43-year-old was convicted of abusing a 9-year-old girl back in 2005. He is listed as a sexually violent offender on the state's sex offender registry. Barone served time in state prison, but is no longer on probation or parole.
Officials say they executed the search warrant in connection with a possible case of child exploitation or pornography.
News 12 Long Island is told electronic devices were removed from the home.
When News 12 Long Island went to the home for comment, the person who answered said agents "came for coffee" and that agents removed "Slayer CDs they wanted to borrow." He also said he considered the situation a joke, but neighbors did not find the situation funny.

"They should take him away," said neighbor Donna Abrams. "He should not be allowed to live here."
