Phones are ringing off the hook at OK Petroleum heating oil delivery service in Hauppauge with last minute requests to fill oil tanks before the big snowstorm.
"The mad rush like milk, eggs, bread, same thing people want heating oil in their house," said Leo Musacchia, co-owner of OK Petroleum.
Pete Hamilton, from West Babylon, says he's doing everything he can to prepare for the ice and snow, and for the frigid week after that.
"That's why I ordered some more oil from OK," he said.
The heating oil company says they have extra drivers and trucks out due to nearly triple the amount of requests for deliveries because of the storm.
If you are low or out of heating oil at home, experts say the temporary solution can be found at the gas station.
"You could put 5 gallons of diesel, 10 gallons of diesel depending on the size of your tank, that'll get you through 24 hours just in case your oil company can't get to you that day," said Musacchia.
The owners of OK Petroleum say home heating oil burns faster when temps dip below freezing.
